This contemporary rectangular winding staircase built over 5 floors, and floating off the adjacent walls, is a beautiful example of a complex steel structure.
Open rises allows light to penetrate through the complete stairwell. Every tread forms part of a very unique continuously winding staircase.
The central spine that forms the main balustrade and carries the majority of the staircase loading is fabricated from 12mm thick solid steel plate.
The welded connections between treads and stringers are carefully concealed to avoid any visible welding throughout the entire staircase.
Treads are filled with a coloured screed and carefully floated to match edge of steel treads.
