Luxurious contemporary house in the heart of fashionable Hampstead.
Beautifully handcrafted double height elliptically profiled helical staircases forms an elegant structure set within a glass atrium with polished plaster walls surrounds.
Particular attention was given to optimising the structural connections between staircases and floors in order to minimise the bulk of each stair stringer.
Treads fully encased in porcelain tiles carefully selected to align grain with direction of stair.
Open risers allow light to penetrate through from glass atrium that tested our design capabilities.
Laminated and toughened low iron glass forms the balustrade and is set into both inner and outer stringers using structural adhesive.
Slotted stainless steel handrail sits on top of glass and gives a clean minimalist look contributing to it’s freestanding appearance.
