The simplicity and industrial aesthetic of this staircase embraces the working history of its' surroundings, within a beautifully restored building, originally built in 1928 as the main printing works for the Daily Mirror. Manufactured in mild steel, chemically blackened and finished with band sawn European Oak treads and risers, the visual result is a stylish statement that seems effortlessly at home. The handrails and tread inserts are antiqued brass, which makes a striking combination with the black steel staircase carriage. This straight staircase was manufactured to a very short programme and the challenging logistics culminated in a delivery that saw the stairs lifted in two pieces, up to the 5th floor terrace.
