Queen Ann This contemporary staircase built over 5 floors, and floating off the adjacent walls, is a beautiful example of a solid steel structure with open rises that allows light to penetrate through the complete stairwell. Every tread forms part of a very unique continuous winder staircase. This ground breaking Helical Staircase over two floors is constructed from mild steel, sand blasted with an acid etch rust appearance, which is sealed with a clear matt lacquer. The treads and handrails are made from reworked Oak. This is a very beautifully designed sculptural and unusual example of a helical Cor-ten rusted effect staircase, making use of a combination of natural materials, i.e. rusted metal, stainless steel, glass and Oak.
